How to claim your properties on HabitaOne

By HabitaOne Team

If you work in real estate in Venezuela, chances are your properties are already on HabitaOne, even if you've never listed here. We bring much of what's listed on Venezuela's portals into one search, and your listings show up under your name or your office's. Claiming them means asking us to move them to your account. From then on you manage them, and anyone asking about them contacts you.

The screenshots in this guide come from the Spanish version of the site. The English labels are quoted in the text.

Why your listings are already here

We save home seekers from jumping between portals. For you, that means your inventory is already getting views on HabitaOne, whether you knew it or not.

The question is what happens to those views. While a listing has no owner here, nobody here is answering it. Some people call the phone number shown on the listing, but others leave us a message through the form, and those messages wait until someone claims the property. When you claim it, those inquiries become yours.

Before you start, check your profile

You need a HabitaOne account, and creating one is free. Before claiming, open your profile and make sure it has your full name and the same phone number and email you use on your listings. That's how we recognize you, and it's what decides whether you see the suggestion.

Your other number

If you list on the portals with a different cell number from the one on your account, add it to your profile with "Add number". You can have several, and any of them helps us recognize you.

First way: accept the suggestion

When you open My Properties and we find listings published with your phone number, email or full name, a box appears at the top telling you how many there are and whose name they're under: "We found 55 listings that might be yours".

The suggestion sits above your properties. Accepting it doesn't assign you anything: first you pick which ones are yours, and that opens a request.

Tap "Yes, let me pick which are mine" and you'll see the full list, with every listing already checked. Take your time. Each one has a "View the listing" link that opens the original post so you can confirm it's yours. If one isn't, uncheck it.

Uncheck whatever isn't yours. The button at the bottom keeps count of how many you're asking for.

When the list looks right, tap the claim button. The request goes out and the box disappears.

'They are not mine' can't be undone

If you tap "They are not mine", the box won't come back. We won't offer you the listings you uncheck again either. If you made a mistake, you can still ask for them the second way, by pasting their link.

Second way: paste your links

If no suggestion shows up, that's fine. It's normal when you signed up with a different phone number or when your listings are published under your office's name. For those cases there's the claim page: you'll find it in My Properties under "Claim listings", or in your account menu as "Claim my listings".

There you copy the links to your listings on other portals and paste them, one per line. You can paste them all at once, and if one repeats we count it once. The link to your property's page here on HabitaOne works too, if you came across it while browsing.

When you tap "Check links", we show you what we found for each one, before you send anything:

  • The ones that match a listing we have show their title, city and price. Only those go into the request.
  • "We cover this portal, but we do not have this listing yet" usually means the listing is recent. Try again in a few days.
  • "We do not cover this portal yet" is a site we don't bring in yet. If you send the request, it gets noted, and that helps us decide which one to add.
  • "That does not look like a link" shows up when the line isn't a web address.
Result of checking five links: two matching listings, a covered portal without the listing, a portal we don't cover and a line that isn't a link
Before sending, you see what happened with each link. Here, two out of five match.

If you like, leave a note for the reviewer, for example that you're the agent in charge of those listings, and tap "Send request for…", which already says how many listings it includes. You can have up to five requests waiting at a time.

What happens after you send it

Your requests live in the "My requests" tab inside My Properties. While we review them, they say "Under review".

The My requests tab with two requests under review: one for 2 listings from pasted links and one for 52 suggested listings
Each request shows how many listings it includes, how it came in and where it stands.

A person on our team reviews each one before a single listing moves. They check that the listings come from the same publisher and that your details match the ones on the listings. When needed, we'll message you on WhatsApp or call the phone number shown on those listings to confirm the request came from you. It's a short call, and we will never ask you for passwords or codes.

Nobody gets a listing just by asking for it. That same rule is what protects yours.

To see where your request stands, open "My requests". You'll see the outcome there as soon as we have it.

When we approve it

The request switches to "Approved" and the listings show up among your published properties, just as if you had uploaded them yourself.

The same tab shows what was approved and what wasn't.

From then on:

  • Your listings list you as the agent, and contacts come to you.
  • The copy we had pulled from the other portal stops showing up in search, so you're not competing against your own listing.
  • The inquiries people left before you claimed them move to your Messages inbox.
  • You can edit them, pause them, or mark them as sold or rented, like any other property of yours.

Every approved listing arrives with its photos and price, ready to edit.

If a listing from the request doesn't show up, write to us through the contact form at the bottom of this guide. Sometimes the original post comes in missing a detail, like the price or the city, and sometimes another account already publishes that same property here.

And if you want one of them to move faster, you can promote it now. We explain how in how to market a property in Venezuela.

When we don't approve it

Sometimes what we see isn't enough, or the listings don't add up. Then the request says "Declined". If the reason is something you can fix, the claim page tells you what it is and what to do: if there wasn't enough supporting evidence, for example, that you add more links from the same office.

A decline isn't final. You can try again, and if you think we got it wrong, write to us and we'll take another look.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything?

No. Claiming your listings is free.

Do I have to upload the photos again?

No. The same photos, price and description we already show for the listing carry over. If you want to change something, you edit it afterward.

What about listings I publish later?

Once they show up on HabitaOne, ask for them the same way: paste their link on the claim page.

What if another account already has one of my listings?

When you check the links, we flag it as "Held by another account". Send the request anyway and explain in the note why it's yours. Whoever holds it doesn't lose it unless a person on our team reviews the case.

When you're ready to start, go to Claim my listings.
